Based on the Pegasus-II chipset, developed by AMDtek, these fancy looking USB-to-Ethernet adapters were not directly supported by BeOS R5. Most Notebook computers were not equipped with onboard network interfaces ‘back then’ and PCMCIA was always some sort of problem under BeOS anyway.
 
What was supposed to become my ‘Christmas Project 2001’ was already ready to be released as a public beta on December 21, 2001. Ahead of schedule!
 
A few new device IDs were added to the driver’s list and supposedly this driver was used to ‘network enable’ some Internet Appliances running BeOS.
